Cinnamon rolls baked on the premises and a glass of wine with a good book
Oodi’s central meeting place is a pleasant café-restaurant with a splendid view of Töölönlahti bay. In addition to our premises on the first floor, there is also a café on the third floor open from morning till evening. Our restaurant dishes are approachable, and there are plenty of options for children.
The day begins with breakfast, to eat in or take away. For lunch, customers can choose from the large salad table or order a homely meal from the kitchen. Give your afternoon with Oodi’s “national coffee break” for an extra infusion of energy and a little indulgence.
The weekend brunch brings family and friends together. In the evening, the spotlight is on eating together, and you could, for example, create your own tasting platter made up of Finnish “tapas”. You can enjoy a cold drink on the terrace in summer or a hot one in winter.
Seasonal and ethical choices, and Finnishness
When designing the restaurant’s services, inspiration came from Scandinavian cuisine, a fusion of East and West. As a rule, we use seasonal Finnish ingredients. The café-restaurant takes into consideration the different users of the library and their needs.
The café-restaurant on the first floor serves everyone coming to the building: visitors to the library, as well as users of the multi-purpose hall and cinema. We cater for all kinds of needs – you can grab a quick lunch or then spend time relaxing over coffee.
Good food, beautiful scenery
The third floor is a more traditional library area with quiet spaces. At the spacious upstairs café, you can take time out to read the day’s papers, for instance. You can also enjoy your purchases out on the spacious “citizens’ balcony” while taking in the view. The selection of the third floor café centres round coffees, teas and snacks.
